Illness Policy
In order to control the spread of contagious illnesses throughout the schools, please regard the following policies:
Fever - Any temperature greater than 100.0 requires the student to be kept at home until his/her temperature remains below this range for 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medications (Tylenol, Advil).
Vomiting - The student must be kept home until 24 hours after the last vomiting episode.
Skin Conditions - Any open or draining area of the skin must be kept covered. Some rashes may indicate that the student has a contagious illness (strep throat, chicken pox, etc.) that requires him/her to stay home from school.
Antibiotcs - Any student with an infection or illness requiring treatment with antibiotics should be kept at home until he/she has been taking the antibiotic for 24 hours.
Communicable illness - Such as chicken pox, mumps, measles, etc. are reportable by state law. Therefore, please notify the school if you believe your student has such an illness.
Your cooperation with the above guidelines is greatly appreciated.
